In 2004 I  began my search to add a puppy to my quiet "empty nest".   

 Cindy of My Darling Dogs (Idaho) told me about a "rare new breed to the USA called the Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka"   

She was expecting her first litter of puppies & I bought “Mimi” from her.  

 

At that time there were only 5 breeders actively breeding (4 have since stopped breeding bolonka) and one litter of puppies available in the United States. 

 

I was in love! and later added a beautiful girl, “Jazzy”,  from Ahavapicaro Kennel in North Carolina.

I was eager to help develop the bolonka breed in the USA joined the fledgling national breed club  then known as “North American Tsvetnaya Bolonka Club “NATBC"

& began attending rare breed dog shows.

​

In the early days breeding choices were limited and importing was necessary for genetic diversity.   

 

I made contacts with breeders in several countries and researched pedigrees to select bolonki to enhance my breeding program mission.

​

  Ruscanis kennel in Russia sold me 2 dogs.  A  male “Ulan” & a bred R.CH female “Blekkiberry”.  

Ruscanis kennel is one of the 2-3 original kennels in Russia & appear in almost every Russian pedigree. Forming the breed we know today.

​

 Bolonki imported directly from oldest  & most respected kennels  in Russia, Czech Republic (Vinny vrch)

Slovakia (Aphaia), & the Ukraine (Lovely Guys) formed the foundation of Bolonka Treasures.

 

In recent years we added dogs with breeders in the USA (PLK & BolonkaBabies) and Poland.

I am thankful to breeders both in the United States and abroad who graciously shared their dogs and/or breed knowledge.

  We are pleased to have Treasures living in homes across the continental United States, Hawaii,  Canada, St. Barths Island, and in Europe.   Many Treasures are therapy dogs, emotional support pets, and company mascots.   

​

Our dogs have won top rare breed show awards and international championships.  
*Once accepted by AKC/UKC, we will add those titles as well.
